Toyota Pavilion At Concord
Pepe Aguilar comes to the Toyota Pavilion at Concord on Sunday, June 7th. He'll get up there on stage with his mariachi and sing tracks from his music library and all of the ranchera classics like "El Rey" and "Mexico Lindo y Querido." We may even have some "special guests" joining Pepe Aguilar on stage. In the last few years, most of the guests at these Pepe Aguilar concerts have been his children, Angela and Leonardo.
You're guaranteed an epic day of Mexican traditional music at the Toyota Pavilion at Concord. The good news is you don't have to be dealing with the heat in a full charro outfit like Pepe Aguilar. Bring some comfortable clothes and some good company. Find yourself in the crowd with a couple of cold ones and enjoy this performance from cover to cover! Pepe Aguilar is a regular on the Vegas lineups during Mexican Independence Day in September, and he's been doing a few arena shows with his Jaripeo Sin Fronteras performances. In those, he comes out riding on a horse much like his father, Antonio Aguilar, did back in the day. What he's not a regular of is the amp scene! It makes this stop at the Toyota Pavilion at Concord all the more appealing. The focus here won't be on the horses and the external "show" that he brings to arenas. It's on the music. In the case of Pepe Aguilar, that's a good thing!
Where do you want to be when Pepe Aguilar starts singing, "Por una mujer bonita me estoy muriendo de celos?" Maybe it will be "Por Unas Monedas" that gets you to touch those emotional parts of your memory that you wanted to erase. After a few beers, a lot of these Pepe Aguilar tracks might be hitting home harder than you anticipated. Our advice if that happens is to just let it flow! It's like a cold, make sure that you cry what you need to cry. There are also going to be upbeat moments in the show and some newer tracks like Pepe's "Lamentablemente" with Carin Leon. It's shaping up to be a good one here at the Toyota Pavilion at Concord.
Don't be so quick to jump on the seats at the front of the pavilion. Sure, being close to the stage invites a special kind of connection with a performer. However, you might feel it's a little too cramped up there for your liking. If you're looking for extra leg room and a spot to enjoy the show while you're there hand in hand with your partner, then maybe seats within the main theater or even toward the back of the venue could be just what the doctor ordered.
